Really just been in an absolute art cave working on Mouth Guy. I ended up animating it and we used about 40 seconds of it for our kickstarter video for the album. Here are some pics.
Took a break from the lighthouse to work on this... thing. She's almost skating, but oh my god weight painting is tedious and my laptop hates it. The hand weight is so hilariously haunted I just started over.
Set some boolean modifiers to mask out parts of the lens and modeled some metal housing. Why tf doesn't the brass material affect the ends of the diagonal posts? I do not know.
Using blender to model Hilda & Helga's lighthouse at the edge of the universe, starting with a first order fresnel lamp. I have no experience with 3D modeling and failed the 3D rotation part of the benchmark test every year in school. Got the cross section, got the dang thing spun, added some extra reflectors, topology isn't terrible. Had to meticulously delete some inner faces and learn about normals.
